Performer, Teacher, Composer, Conductor

    PATSY ROGERS holds two degrees in composition from Bennington College, also having studied at Smith College and Columbia University. She has taught composition, theory, piano, and recorde in schools and colleges in New York and New England, and now teaches privately in her studio in New Suffolk. She performs regularly in recorder ensembles of all sizes (trio, quartet, quintet, recorder orchestra, recorder swing band) and occasionally as a pianist. She also conducts and teaches at recorder workshops. She is the current conductor of The Recorder Orchestra of New York (RONY).


    The compositions of Patsy Rogers have been performed throughout the United States, and in Europe, Mexico, Canada, and Taiwan; they have been broadcast on NPR, Pacifica, and the Voice of America. Her song cycle SONJA is recorded on the Cambria label, and is published by Leonarda. In addition to many art songs, song cycles and choral works, she has written an opera, several ballet scores, and a viola concerto. Her prize-winning REWEAVINGS for recorder orchestra, has been performed several times, including in London, and is recorded by RONY.
